First Start-up Test and Function Test Method of CNC Turning Machine

Ⅰ. What startup tests need to be done when using a CNC turning machine for the first time?


1. Idling test


a. The running test of the active mechanism shall not be less than 1h at the highest speed range, the temperature value of the main shaft bearing shall not exceed 70°C, and the temperature rise shall not exceed 40°C;


b. Continuous dry running test, the exercise time is not less than 8h, and each cycle time is not more than 15min. Stop at the end of each cycle, and simulate the action of loosening the workpiece, stop for no more than 1 minute, and then continue to run.


2. Load test


The user prepares the drawings and blanks of typical parts, programs and enters the program under the guidance of the factory commissioning personnel, and selects cutting tools and cutting parameters.


The load test of CNC turning machine can be carried out in the following three steps, rough turning, heavy cutting, and fine turning. Each step is divided into single cutting and cycle program cutting. After each cutting is completed, inspect the actual size of the machined part and compare it with the command value, and inspect the running accuracy of the machine tool under load conditions, that is, the comprehensive machining accuracy of the machine tool, and the indexing accuracy of the turret tool holder.


3. Acceptance


After the CNC turning machine is unpacked and accepted, the function test, dry running test, and load test are completed, and qualified products are processed, and the acceptance and handover procedures can be handled. If there is any problem, the manufacturer shall be responsible for solving it.


Ⅱ. Function test method when CNC turning machine is turned on


1. Carry out functional tests on CNC turning machines with buttons, switches, and manual manipulation. The flexibility, stability and functional reliability of the test action.


2. Choose a spindle speed to do the continuous test of spindle start, forward rotation, reverse rotation and stop. The operation is not less than 7 times.


3. High, medium and low speed conversion test of the main shaft. The allowable difference between the command value and the displayed value of the rotational speed is ±5%.


4. Choose one kind of feed rate, and do the working feed and rapid feed test continuously on the entire stroke of the XZ axis. The fast stroke should be greater than 1/2 full stroke. Pros and cons and continuous operation no less than 7 times.


5. On the entire travel of the X and Z axes, do low, medium and high feed rate conversion tests. The turret tool post is subjected to various indexing and clamping tests.


6. Hydraulic, lubricating, and cooling systems are tested for sealing, lubricating, and cooling to ensure no leakage.


7. The chuck is tested for clamping, loosening, flexibility and reliability.


8. The spindle is tested for forward rotation, reverse rotation, stop and changing the spindle speed.


9. The turret turret is subjected to the forward and reverse direction indexing test.


10. The low, medium and high feed rate of the feed mechanism is used for the rapid feed conversion test.


11. Test feed coordinate overtravel, manual data input, position display, return to reference point, program number instruction and retrieval, program pause, program deletion, address line interpolation, straight line cutting, taper cutting cycle, thread cutting cycle, circle arc cutting cycle, tool position compensation, pitch compensation, clearance compensation and other functions reliability and action flexibility.
