Troubleshooting Stainless Steel Turned Parts

Ⅰ. The thread surface of stainless steel turning parts is rough


1. Fault analysis: The main reason for this problem is that the cutting edge of the turning tool is not smooth enough, the cutting fluid, cutting speed and processing material do not match, or the vibration generated during the cutting process.


2. Solution: Grind the tool with oil or grinding wheel, select the matching cutting fluid and cutting speed, adjust the position of various parts, ensure the accuracy of the gap between the guide rails, and prvent vibration during cutting.


Ⅱ. The gnawing knife of stainless steel turning parts


1. Fault analysis: The main reason is that the installation position of the turning tool is wrong, either too high or too low, and the workpiece clamping is not firm, and the turning tool wears too much.


2. Solution: Adjust the height of the turning tool so that the tool tip is at the same height as the axis of the workpiece.


Ⅲ. Random buckling of stainless steel turning parts


1. Fault analysis: When the lead screw rotates a circle, the workpiece is not installed for an integer number of revolutions.


2. Solution:


(1) When the ratio of the lead screw pitch of the lathe to the workpiece pitch is not an integral multiple, if the split nut is opened and the saddle is shaken to the initial position when the tool is withdrawn, then when the split nut is closed again, the lathe will occur. The tip of the knife is not in the spiral groove formed by the previous knife, so that there is a random buckle.


The solution is to use the positive and negative turning method to retract the tool, that is, at the end of the first stroke, without lifting the split nut, after the tool is withdrawn in the radial direction, reverse the spindle to make the turning tool retract in the longitudinal direction, and then proceed to the second stroke. Second stroke, in the process of reciprocating, because the transmission between the main shaft, lead screw and tool holder has not been separated, the turning tool is always in the original spiral groove, and there will be no random buckling.


(2) For stainless steel turning parts, the thread pitch of the lathe screw and the axis base ratio of the workpiece are integral multiples, the workpiece and the screw are rotating, and after the split nut is lifted, the screw must be rotated at least once before it can be closed again. Split nut, so that when the lead screw rotates once, the workpiece rotates an integer multiple, the turning tool can enter the spiral groove of the previous tool, and there will be no random buckling, so that the split nut can be opened and the knife can be retracted manually. In this way, the tool retracts quickly, which is conducive to improving productivity and maintaining the accuracy of the lead screw, and the lead screw is also safer.


Ⅳ. The pitch of the stainless steel turning parts is wrong


Fault analysis and solution:


(1) Improper matching of the hanging wheel or wrong position of the handle of the feed box, resulting in incorrect thread length, re-check the position of the handle of the feed box or check the hanging wheel.


(2) The part is incorrect. Due to the local error of the screw pitch of the lathe screw itself, the screw can be replaced or partially repaired.


Ⅴ. The center diameter of stainless steel turning parts is wrong


1. Fault analysis: The reason is that the knife is too large, the dial is not accurate, and the measurement is not timely.


2. Solution: Check whether the dial is loose during finishing turning, the margin of finishing turning should be appropriate, the cutting edge of turning tool should be sharp, and measure in time.
